Altus Public School District Honors 15 Retirees | Print |  E-mail

Altus Public Schools honored teachers and support staff members during the annual Staff Recognition Program held on Friday, May 25. Employees were recognized for their retirements and years of service.

Retirees honored at the event included Jay Argo, 33 years of service; Sherry Brownlow, seven years of service; Barbara Coates, 22 years of service; Kathe Crawford, 29 years of service; Capt. Thomas Hanes, 18 years of service; Edee Hayden, 24 years of service; Susan Hepner, 32 years of service; Dana Liles, 27 years of service; Kandy Medlock, 30 years of service; Nelda Norcross, 13 years of service; Dorothy Pittman, 22 years of service; Carol Steen, 32 years of service; Roberta Webster, 14 years of service; Joy Whitlock, 40 years of service; and Mark Whitlock, 40 years of service.

Each retiree was presented with a brass school bell and stand, engraved with his or her name and years of service to Altus Schools, as well as a pin and a sports and activities pass.

Bruce May, assistant superintendent, also recognized school employees who have accumulated 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of experience in the Altus Public School District.

Those having served 20 years are Kayla Bull, Leslie Conrad, Ronna Cross, Jeff Hastings, Teresa Hicks, Cody Huckaby, Elida Lopez, Carol Walker, Paula Williams, and Roe Worbes.

Having served 25 years in the school district are Gayle Abernathy, Lana Allen, Jimmy Childs, Melody Overfield, Jay Richeson, and Robin Wenk.

Those with 30 years of experience in Altus Schools are Angela Coronado, Renee Long, Liz McCuistion, Kandy Medlock, and Jan Wills.

Recognized for 35 years of service to Altus Public Schools were Carolyn Haught, June Lee, and Judy Morgan.

Those recognized for serving 40 years to Altus Public Schools were Stella Gonzales, Joy Whitlock, and Mark Whitlock.
